[S3E13] The Army Of One
You don't have the warrant? Then what do you have, Lieutenant Leonard? Forgive me... [laughs] Captain Leonard. You must excuse my unfamiliarity with the somewhat liberal practices of the naval service, insofar as conferring rank is concerned. I'm afraid the army takes a somewhat more traditional stance in these matters, preferring to grant a title of command only when it has been earned.
[S3E13] The Army of One
On the other side of Xena's past, there's Callisto. Anytime a person tries to change their life for the better, there will always be past harm to reconcile with. Callisto, the young girl whose family was killed by Xena's army, eventually became a warrior of equal caliber and used all of her power and strength to hurt and kill. Callisto is a constant foil for Xena, and no matter how much progress she makes in her quest for redemption, Callisto is the one character that can always make her feel like it's all for nothing. Callisto later reaches her own redemption of sorts, but it doesn't change the fact that all the carnage she caused was, in some ways, on Xena's hands. Ares and Callisto even team up for a time, though their mutual fixation on Xena makes a longterm alliance impossible. Still, they both serve similar roles in her life.
The following day, Kahn drops by Strickland Propane, where he needs the propane to be filled to the top for his grill, because of his big party tomorrow to celebrate his promotion. His news draws Strickland's attention who begins to like it and tells Debbie to be her new title, but Kahn rejects his claims. Hank asks Kahn about which systems that he's managing on, believing it's the phone. Kahn refused to tell him about that since he has a big army contract. Hank jokes and questions Kahn about the phone. He invites Hank to join him for a tour of his workplace, Composite Analysis Incorporated, and hints about a large propane contract, causing Hank to accept the offer before explains about Strickland Propane, which annoys Kahn. Once at Kahn's company, Kahn warns Hank that anything he sees inside the company is strictly confidential in nature while demonstrates about the details. Hank makes jabs about how simple and secluded his office is. He then steers Hank towards a giant hangar where he opens a glass display and removes a golf driver. After placing a ball on a range tee, Kahn hits a seemingly endless drive. Hank is greatly impressed. Kahn then explains that the club is made of a resilient ceramic composite, which could be used by the U.S. Army for their tanks. Hank then sets up a ball and takes a swing. An ecstatic look crosses his face as the ball disappears on the horizon. Moments later, Kahn admits that his company has no need for propane and the company uses a "safer and more efficient", he simply wanted to flaunt his high status and make Hank miss work. Hank attempts to leave, but is unable to gain the access code to exit the hangar, which Kahn laughs at him, much to Hank's annoyance.
Later, in the alley, an incised Hank tells his friends about the golf club, swearing them to secrecy and that he knows about returning there, much to their surprise. At Fort Blanda Army Base, Bill later accidentally mentions the golf club to an army General during a haircut and their conversation, which catches the General and Officer's attention. After adding that the composite is going to be used on the army's tanks, he quickly steers the conversation away by saying that Private Taylor being gay, much to latter's embarrassment and both general and officer's shock. The next day, two security guards and the company owner enter Kahn's office and inform him that he and his contract have been both terminated for breaching his security agreement and he must vacant from his workroom. Kahn replies he never told anybody until he realizes that he told Hank.
Returning home in a taxi disheveled and with his suit wrinkled, Kahn confronts and informs Hank that he lost his job because company secrets were leaked. Hank reassures he didn't tell anyone, but looks to Dale who denies sharing their conversations over the internet again and then to Bill who admits he accidentally told an army general not thinking they were "on the record". Kahn is in disbelief, but Hank fires back that it is Kahn's own fault for telling him in the first place. Kahn dismisses it and claims that a severance package will take care of his family for quite some time out of Dale's salary before heading back home. Dale ridicules that he doesn't have any living wage.
Arthur and Merlin embark on a dangerous mission to capture the Cup of Life, a powerful magical artefact that carries the gift of immortality. However, before they are able to retrieve the Cup they fall prey to Jarl, an unscrupulous slave trader. They manage to escape when a trusted friend comes to their rescue but with Jarl's help, the Cup of Life ends up in Morgause's hands. With an immortal army at their disposal, will Morgause and Morgana topple Uther once and for all?
Can Arthur save Camelot from the evil Morgana? The newly crowned Queen Morgana begins a reign of terrible evil over the innocent citizens of Camelot. With Morgause's immortal army at her command, it seems there is no hope for Uther, who must watch his kingdom crumble under the unimaginable cruelty of his own daughter.
Messengers from Cenred's army arrive at Camelot to inform the Court a patrol of Camelot's has been killed for trespassing into Cenred's lands. Sir Leon is believed to be among the fallen as well. Meanwhile a group of Druids have come upon said patrol and are looking for survivors. Sir Leon is the only one still clinging to life and the Druids transport him to a hidden cave. There they use the Cup of Life to revive Leon, who is next seen recounting his tale to an uneasy Uther and the rest of the Court of Camelot.
Uther fears the Cup of Life might fall into the hands of Cenred and decides it's not safe with the Druids. Merlin asks Gaius about the Cup and Gaius explains in the wrong hands the Cup of Life could be a very powerful weapon. Many centuries ago a great warlord collected a drop of blood from each of his soldiers and through the power of the Cup the army was made immortal, causing unimaginable carnage.
Morgause casts a spell on the Cup of Life and collects the blood of Cenred's army in it. Cenred comments on the beauty of his army to which Morgause retorts they are her army, since she cast the spell to make them immortal; when he challenges her, Morgause decides she no longer requires Cenred and has one of Cenred's men kill him, thereby demonstrating the army is completely bound to her by magic. Cenred battles one of the soldiers, only to discover the effectiveness of the spell, and is reduced to begging Morgause for his life, which she ignores.
Meanwhile, Sir Leon again escapes Morgause's immortal army and Uther hears of the news. Gaius informs Uther the only way this could have happened is Camelot has been betrayed, and Morgana is seen smirking. Back in Morgana's chamber, Morgana tells Gwen not "everyone" has to perish and there is always a choice, to which Gwen hesitantly replies she has and always will be loyal to her mistress.
The next morning Arthur awakens and learns the Cup is now in the hands of Cenred. Gwaine, Arthur, and Merlin make their way on foot to Camelot and pass a burned out village and a patrol of Camelot soldiers who have been massacred. The lack of enemy corpses tells them they are facing an army of immortals as they make their way to the city.
As Xena prepares to treat the swelling, Phiddipides rushes up and tells them to run for their lives. He reports that a huge foreign army has come ashore, laid waste to the troops in Marathon and is now heading their way. From his description, Xena deduces that the attackers are Persians. She tells Gabrielle that the Persian army is unparalleled in its ruthlessness and if the soldiers reach Athens, Greece is lost.
In the Season 3 finale "Welcome to the Tombs" (S3E16), a member of the Woodbury army opens fire with a Heckler & Koch MP5A2s equipped with a SureFire dedicated forend weaponlight. Sasha is seen wielding one when Rick and the others go to Woodbury with Karen.
A Browning M2HB machine gun is mounted on a National Guard HMMWV that the Governor brings back to Woodbury in "Walk With Me" (S3E03). It appears to be a mockup identical to the one was fitted on the fake M1 Abrams tank in Season 1. The heavy machine gun is later seen again in "Prey" (S3E14) being removed from storage and mounted on the HMMWV to be used as a mock technical by the Woodbury army. The Browning here is an actual machine gun as Bowman opens fire on walkers with it in the Season 3 finale "Welcome to the Tombs" (S3E16). When Allen attempts to fire the machine gun, it appears to have jammed and is thus abandoned.
Armin Arlelt discovers signs of an enemy presence and leads a group of soldiers to search for their hiding place. They uncover Reiner Braun hiding inside the Wall itself, but Levi Ackermann is unable to kill him before Reiner transforms into the Armored Titan. Outside the district, the Beast Titan appears along with a small army of Titans. It hurls a boulder into the breach in the Wall's inner gate, closing off the district's only remaining ground exit and trapping the Scout Regiment's horses on the Titan side of the Wall. This cuts off the Scout Regiment's only way of escape, forcing them to face the Titans.
Later on the same night, however, Guatemalan officials said they weren't even sure that a gunfight with drug dealers had occurred. Officials also said that military units were patrolling the area where the clash reportedly happened, to see if they could find any signs of a battle between the army and drug traffickers.
\"We have no reports so far of a clash between [drug traffickers and] the police or the army,\" Lopez said on Emisoras Unidas, adding that helicopters were still inspecting the areas where the clash had reportedly occurred.
According to Lopez, confusion over the incident arose because the Interior Ministry relied excessively on the testimonies of local villagers, who said that they had seen a clash between the army and drug traffickers. 041b061a72
